Why create a baby registry?
Preparing for baby's arrival is a unique moment... and often filled with questions! To not forget anything and avoid duplicate purchases, the baby registry is a real ally. It allows you to centralize all the essentials you'll need, based on your daily life, your desires, and your space. It's also a simple way to guide your loved ones who want to please you without making mistakes. Furniture, linens, accessories, decor... your list can contain everything that seems important to you for welcoming baby in the best conditions. And above all, it allows you to better anticipate and spread out your purchases with peace of mind.
Baby furniture: the essentials
Baby combination bed, dresser, wardrobe, changing table and others, furniture is the first step in setting up a child's room. They are preferably chosen in wood if possible certified PEFC or FSC to ensure it comes from eco-managed forests. It is also important to choose furniture with low formaldehyde content and if possible with water-based paint to limit the presence of volatile organic compounds and preserve baby's well-being. Whether for a baby combination bed or storage furniture, made in France is also a good way to choose a more eco-responsible product.
A baby bed
The baby bed is the first essential piece of furniture to have for baby's arrival. During the first 6 months of a child's life, the use of a baby cradle is often recommended. Smaller than the barred baby bed, it is more adapted to their small size and more reassuring. Then, it's a barred bed that will be used until the child is about 2 years old, after which they can use a big kid bed.
You can certainly buy the different beds one after another, but there is also what we call the convertible baby bed. The convertible bed is one that can be transformed as the child grows. First a cradle, it only takes a few adjustments following the instructions to turn it into a barred bed and then a child's bed. At Nateo Concept, you'll find many models of convertible beds, including some that can be used from the child's birth.
If you're short on space in the baby's room and/or want to limit expenses, you can opt for a combination baby bed. The combination baby bed is a piece of furniture that combines both a natural wood baby bed most often, but also a changing table and storage. It is also possible to choose a combination baby bed that is also a convertible baby bed. Rather than opting for a cradle, a barred bed, a changing table and a storage dresser for example, you can therefore opt for a convertible combination bed. The convertible combination baby bed is a true all-in-one solution that can then be used as a 2-year-old baby bed or more depending on the models.
Finally, don't forget to choose a baby mattress for your convertible combination bed. At Nateo Concept, we offer models with natural materials like cotton or bamboo that respect baby's well-being.
A changing table and storage
Still on the furniture side, if you decide not to go with the combination bed idea or if you want to complement existing elements, you'll need to opt for a changing table and storage furniture. You can choose a changing table with some shelves to easily store baby's things. There are also wall-mounted versions that can be folded to save space. There's also the option of a dresser equipped with a changing top. This provides a dresser with nice storage space that can also be used as a changing table. When baby no longer needs changing, simply remove the changing top to continue using the dresser.
Storage furniture can also complement the crib or baby combination bed. You can opt for a dresser and/or wardrobe to have enough space to store all of baby's things.
Baby bedding
Then comes the time to choose your future child's linens. It's recommended to opt for clothes and linens made from natural materials. You'll need to plan for everything the child will need at the maternity ward, but also upon return home. However, be careful not to buy too many clothes, as babies grow quickly.
More than clothes and bath linens, it's also the bedding that will need to be chosen carefully. At Nateo Concept, we offer you a whole selection of baby bedding to use with your baby combination bed, your barred bed, or other. Our fitted sheets are 100% cotton and available in several sizes either 60x120cm or 70x140cm depending on your mattress size. Beautiful colors and patterns will allow you to perfectly match the bedding to the chosen room colors.
Accessories and toys
Still with the idea of choosing items that respect the child's well-being. We'll make sure to choose products suitable for infants. Bottles, developmental toys, and other items should therefore be chosen according to the age and needs of your child. If in doubt, you can ask for advice in stores, but also consult healthcare professionals. It's also important to use products that comply with current regulations to preserve your child's well-being.
Finally, once all the essential items are on the baby registry. You can opt for decorative elements to personalize the baby's room. Wallpaper, rugs, cushions, frames... There are many decorative elements to choose from. Once everything is ready, all that's left is to patiently wait for baby's arrival.
