Using social media

Social media is an excellent way to share your baby registry. It allows you to target your family and friends without addressing a particular recipient. You therefore don't feel like you're forcing anyone's hand.

On Facebook, you can create a post with the link to your baby registry or provide information about the chosen shop and the name under which the list is registered. Accompany this with a message saying that if any of your contacts wish to support you in this new adventure awaiting you, they will find ways to make you happy in this list.

On Instagram, it's more difficult to share a link. However, you can do it in a story. This might be an opportunity to make a video together and address your contacts directly.

On TikTok, you can also take the opportunity to create fun content and thus share the link to your baby registry.

That being said, don't forget that not all your loved ones may be on social media, and older relatives might find it difficult to stay informed about the news.

Sending an email and/or SMS

Emails and SMS remain a very good way to inform the desired people and share information about your baby registry. More confidential, they allow you to address only the desired people. Here too, make an effort with the message that will accompany the list.

Don't hesitate to specify to your loved ones that there is no obligation to participate, that it is simply a way for those who wish to offer something to learn about what you need to welcome the baby.

Information only upon request

If you feel uncomfortable sharing your list spontaneously, you can also prepare it and send it only if someone asks for it. This can be a way for you to feel more at ease with this concept. Be aware, however, that some of your loved ones might take offence at knowing there was a list and that you didn't bother to send it to them.

Generally speaking, creating a baby registry remains a very common practice when a child is on the way. So don't feel embarrassed about following the tradition. You can also choose to announce it with humour, for example by personalising the message that will accompany the baby registry. You could, for instance, imagine with a touch of irony what the baby might want to say: "I'm writing to you from mum's tummy, which is comfortable, but has been a bit cramped lately...".

What should be found on a baby registry?

A baby registry can include all sorts of items intended for the baby, whether from birth or in the months that follow. This allows you to make a complete list with varied items so that everyone finds something suitable.

Furniture

While many parents prefer to buy the furniture themselves to have time to assemble and install it in the baby's room, it is entirely possible to put baby furniture on your baby registry. This can be an opportunity to be gifted a beautiful wooden baby cot, made in France and eco-friendly, as your loved ones can team up to offer it to you.

In this case, the combination baby cot can be an excellent choice. This convertible baby cot combines several pieces of furniture in one for a complete solution. The baby combination cot usually includes a cot, storage elements, and a changing table. We can notably mention our BYRON convertible baby cot which includes all these elements and also transforms into a child's bed. With a combination baby cot, the baby's room is already practically furnished. In addition to a convertible baby cot or combination cot, you can be gifted a chest of drawers and/or a storage wardrobe, and also, why not, a nice armchair.

Everyday accessories

To meet the expectations of loved ones with a small to medium budget, you can include in your baby registry all kinds of accessories that will be useful in your daily life. For bath time, meals, in the car, etc. There are numerous items that will undoubtedly be useful to you.

Clothing

Relatives generally love to give clothing as gifts. So don't hesitate to put some clothes in your baby registry. You can plan ahead by choosing slightly larger sizes for the following season, for example.

Toys

Finally, you can also include games and toys in your baby registry. They will certainly be very enjoyable in the months that follow, and your loved ones will adore seeing your baby play with the toy they have given.

Beyond what's on the baby registry, it's also common for loved ones to give spontaneous gifts.
