Let's enjoy the beautiful days

The sun, singing birds, and nature slowly awakening - no doubt, the beautiful days are here. Are you lucky enough to have a terrace? It's time to set it up to make the most of it! Discover our tips to make your terrace a friendly and pleasant living space for all seasons.

Preparing the terrace

Regardless of the size of your terrace, we advise you to start by preparing it well. The ground, exposure, privacy... By taking into account all aspects of your outdoor space, you will be able to create a welcoming environment where it's pleasant to relax.

The floor

There are numerous solutions for covering a terrace floor. Depending on your desires, budget, or the style of your outdoor space, you can opt for:

  • Wood. A wooden terrace is warm and welcoming. Composite wood, solid wood, or exotic wood slats can be laid directly on the ground or on a more solid base. However, be sure to maintain your wooden terrace well each year to keep it clean for longer.
  • Tiles. It's the simplest solution. Quick to install, tiles come in different colours and designs allowing you to create the atmosphere you want on your terrace. Outdoor tiles are also durable and easy to maintain.
  • Marble or natural stone. These more expensive materials are also more durable.

For small budgets, coloured concrete is an affordable and original solution. If you can't do any work on your terrace, opt for artificial grass. It will bring a touch of greenery and a natural feel to your terrace.

The walls

Whether in the city or countryside, it's not uncommon to have a view of your neighbours or the road from your terrace. To preserve your privacy and enjoy your outdoor space in peace, consider dressing up your walls.

To create a visual and natural separation, bamboo screens, trellises, climbing or evergreen plants, or a bamboo hedge are interesting alternatives.

For outdoor decor, opt for hanging plants, solar lanterns or candle holders, or outdoor curtains to mask an unsightly wall.

Just like inside your home, outdoor walls can be adorned with decorative objects that are both aesthetic and practical. Hang dreamcatchers for a bohemian decor or install waterproof and colourful paintings for an open-air art gallery ambiance.

For elevated terraces or balconies, secure your space with marine-type cordage. Flexible, lightweight, and very decorative, cordage becomes a true element of chic and contemporary decoration.

Shade sails

Depending on the exposure of your terrace, it may be necessary to protect yourself from the sun to enjoy it all day long.

Whether in a canopy style or overlapping, shade sails provide shade and coolness and hide any potential overlooking from neighbours on upper floors.

For smaller spaces, opt for an offset or more classic parasol that allows you to modulate the brightness on your terrace.

Defining spaces

From morning to evening, it's possible to fully enjoy your terrace all day and in any season. If you have enough space, define several areas for each moment of the day with our eco-responsible outdoor furniture.

In all seasons and at all hours, outdoor spaces are promising.

A lounge area for entertaining

How about installing a real living room on your terrace! Thanks to our garden lounge sets, you can create a friendly and comfortable seating area. With a garden coffee table, armchairs, and a few outdoor poufs, you have the ideal place to entertain friends or for romantic evenings.

While waterproof and UV-resistant fabrics are preferable for furnishing your terrace, other more design-oriented solutions exist. MOJOW outdoor furniture made from recycled TPU is ultra-resistant. Play with the colours and shapes of these original pieces to create a trendy terrace!

A relaxation corner

Increased sunshine, holidays, or long weekends are perfect opportunities to relax on the terrace. Set up a comfortable relaxation corner so you can enjoy your free time outdoors.

For this, simply install:

  • Sun loungers or deck chairs.
  • A serving cart to keep your drinks, snacks, or favourite book within reach.
  • An outdoor pouf or large cushion in waterproof fabric.

Have you thought about the children?

Why not create their own space on the terrace! Traditional wooden games, a ball pit, or small garden furniture will delight all children. To introduce them to biodiversity and the cycle of nature, consider setting up a small vegetable garden at their height. Young and old will be delighted to taste the fruits of collective work at harvest time!

The details that make all the difference

A few vintage objects, recycled pallets, wooden logs, or string lights will add charm to your terrace. Create a unique and authentic style in your outdoor spaces by paying attention to details.

Lighting

Vary the lighting to adapt the brightness to different times of the day. Solar lamps are ideal for a cosy atmosphere, spots or wall lights allow you to cook and eat comfortably, while a string of lights will create an ultra-trendy festive spirit.

Do you want to enjoy your terrace as much as possible? Consider a fire pit that will keep you warm for your spring and autumn evenings.

Plants and vegetation

Don't neglect nature on your terrace! Plants and vegetation help to revitalize outdoor spaces. They also invite relaxation, contemplation, and a return to nature.

A few hanging planters are ideal for small terraces. In larger spaces, climbing plants will be a real decorative asset.

Why not combine the useful with the pleasant! Set up a vegetable corner with aromatic herbs or vegetables.

Fruit shrubs such as raspberry or blackberry bushes are space-saving, pretty, and delicious at harvest time. Potted citrus fruits are also very popular for their fragrance and evergreen foliage.

Make your terrace a biodiversity haven with melliferous plants. They will attract small insects and bees and promote pollination, especially in urban areas.

Outdoor decoration

It takes little to decorate your terrace and make it welcoming and cosy:

  • An outdoor rug to add colour.
  • Candles or lanterns to light up your long summer evenings.
  • Shelves to store your gardening equipment. Choose a painter's ladder for a unique and original decoration!
  • Blankets for cooler evenings.
  • Mirrors for more brightness and to create light effects when the sun reflects on them.

On large terraces, adding a water feature is also very enjoyable in summer. A pond, fountain, or even a Jacuzzi will refresh the whole family and even birds!

Insect hotels, bird houses, or feeders are as much a welcome for local wildlife as they are trendy natural decorations.
