Our advice for arranging the baby's room

As every parent knows, a well-chosen baby cot is essential for peaceful nights. For this, there are many high-quality products, which will also be an opportunity to create a beautiful decoration in the room! So which baby cot to choose? What type of mattress and bedding to prefer? What about the changing table and decor? We answer all your questions!

Choosing the right baby cot

There are different materials that can make up a baby cot and most often a wooden baby cot will be chosen by parents. Natural and sturdy, wood allows for the creation of very beautiful models and it is a risk-free material for children.

However, be careful to ensure that the chosen model is a natural wood baby cot. A low formaldehyde content and water-based paint are preferable to be healthy and safe. We then talk about an eco-friendly baby cot.

Moreover, one can opt for different bed shapes depending on one's needs and the age of the child.

The cradle

The cradle is a model that is exclusively for infants and will therefore only be used for the first few months of the child's life. Smaller than a regular baby cot, it can also be adapted for co-sleeping to be placed in the parents' room. While the cradle is better suited for infants due to its small size and reassuring aspect, it is entirely possible to achieve the same result for the first few months by opting for a cot reducer.

The classic baby cot

The classic baby cot is a cot with bars that can be used until the child is between 2 and 3 years old. They may then feel cramped, and that's when we can offer them a big kid's bed. A classic baby cot measures 60x120cm and is adjustable to 2 or even 3 heights depending on the models. Our DREAM and ADAM models are, for example, classic formats with bars.

The convertible baby cot

The convertible baby cot accompanies the child for a long period as it starts as a cot with bars to then transform into a child's bed. A high-quality model that matches the rest of the room can thus be kept for several years. MOON or even WOOD are among our convertible baby cot models.

The combination baby cot

Finally, there is also the combination baby cot which is the combination of a convertible baby cot and a changing table with storage. Perfect for limited spaces, this all-in-one model is ideal for having the changing unit within reach from the sleeping area, thus saving precious time! Our PALME and BROOM models are notably combination baby cots.

Opt for an organic baby mattress

Still with the idea of creating an eco-friendly baby room, one can complement their natural wood baby cot with an organic mattress. The organic baby mattress is a mattress made of organic cotton. Oeko-Tex certified, it usually has a plant-based treatment to be anti-dust mite and antibacterial. Safe, it does not alter either the growth or the health of your child.

Pay attention to the choice of bedding

Regarding baby bedding, an eco-friendly baby room will first be adorned with a duvet made in France in cotton and with a natural anti-dust mite treatment. We will also add an organic cotton mattress protector to protect the mattress and of course baby bedding including a fitted sheet labelled Oeko-Tex to ensure the absence of harmful components in the fabric fibres.

After checking the composition of your bedding, you can certainly opt for colours and patterns that match the rest of the room to brighten up the space and give it the desired style!

What about the changing table?

If one hasn't opted for a combination baby cot, adding a changing table to the room will be very appreciated in order to gain comfort, safety, and practicality in daily life. There is the changing table which is a standalone piece of furniture with storage underneath the changing surface. There are also wall-mounted and foldable versions to save space.

One can also opt for a removable changing top that will be installed on a storage dresser. The furniture can thus be used for many years even after the changing top becomes unnecessary since it is removable, practical!

Refine everything with decorative ideas!

Once the furniture is chosen and the bed is ready to welcome the baby, all that's left is to refine the room's decoration! If one wishes to maintain the idea of creating an eco-friendly room, there are, for example, paints and wallpapers made for decorating children's rooms and which therefore do not release harmful substances.

Lamps, frames, rugs, and other decorations can complete the whole according to one's tastes and desires. However, one should think about keeping enough space in the room. Very quickly, numerous toys and books will litter the floor. You'll need to find a place for them: toy chests and other shelves might then be in order!
